# Sort the Post > Write Gmail filters from a few of your own emails. Paste emails that clutter your inbox, one per line as > "sender | subject", and say where each kind should go. A metered run turns each wish into one Gmail search plus a > label and actions (skip the inbox, mark as read, star, never spam, importance), built only from the senders, domains > and words you pasted, and says which wishes are too vague to filter. The page tests every search on your emails, > shows where each one lands on a post-room rack, and exports a filter file Gmail imports. It never writes filters that > delete or forward mail. Built on the SkillSafe skill @googleworkspace/recipe-create-gmail-filter. https://sort-the-post.skillsafe.ai/ ## What is free - A search tester for the part of Gmail's search that can be checked on a sender and a subject: from:, to:, subject:, words, "quoted phrases", OR, -exclude, {any of} and (groups). Other operators are passed to Gmail untouched and count as matching in the tester. - The post-room rack: one pigeonhole per filter, the pasted emails it catches, and an inbox tray for the rest. - Three samples replay their saved filters at no cost. Downloads: the filter file (.xml), the rack (PNG, SVG), Markdown, JSON. ## The metered task One task, `filters`, on gpt-terra, metered per run. Input string fields: `task`, `wants` (numbered lines), `want_count`, `mail` (numbered lines `N. from: Name
| subject: ...`), `mail_count` and `my_address`. The reply is one JSON object: `verdict` (`ready`, `partial` or `unclear`), `filters` (each `want`, `query`, `label`, `actions`, `category`, `catches`, `why`), `unclear` (wishes that need a sender or subject word) and `note`. The page re-tests every query against the pasted emails, compares that with what the reply says it catches, flags senders that appear in nothing you pasted and filters that match your own address, and only exports known actions. ## Importing Gmail > Settings > See all settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses > Import filters, then choose the .xml file. The file follows the format of Gmail's own filter export (property names as used by the open-source gmailctl exporter). ## Affiliation An independent tool for Gmail users.
